****** Install Windows NT 3.5 ATAPI Driver (IDE CDROM Support) ******

    This driver is for Windows NT 3.5 and after version, it does not not
    support NT 3.1. The driver is provided on the diskette of your Promise
    IDE cache card package, including: DC200, DC4030VL1, DC4030VL2, DC5030,
    EIDE4030 and EIDE5030.

    Please follow the steps below to install the Windows NT 3.5 driver:

    (This driver supports ATAPI. With the EIDE4030 and EIDE5030 you just
     need to connect your CDROM to the ISA-IDE bus. The DC-xxxx series
     controllers do not support IDE CDROM. You need to add a secondary IDE
     card (0X17x port), and connect the CDROM to secondary IDE card).


     NOTE: The DISK1.NT file must be on the root of the floppy drive from 
           which you are installing the driver. The other files may be in
           their own directory if desired.



Promise Technology Inc. IDE ATAPI Cache Adapter Driver Installation
--------------------------------------------

1) From the Program Manager, double click on "Windows NT Setup" in the
   Main group.

2) Select "Options/Add/Remove SCSI Adapters..."

3) Click on "Add" then warning dialog will appear and click "OK".

4) The "Select SCSI Adapter Option" dialog will appear; select
   "Other (Requires a disk from a hardware manufacturer)" from the
   "Adapter:" list box.

5) Next, the "Insert Diskette" dialogbox will appear; insert the Promise
   driver disk into Drive A: and type "A:\NT35" into dialogbox.

6) Next, the "Select OEM Option" dialogbox will appear; select
   "Promise Technology Inc. IDE ATAPI Cache Adapter" and click "OK".

7) Next the "Select SCSI Adapter Option" dialogbox will appear; click on
   the "Install" button in the dialogbox.

8) If installation is successful, the "SCSI Adapter Setup" dialogbox will
   reappear, and "Promise Technology Inc. IDE ATAPI Cache Adapter" will be
   listed as an installed driver.

9) Reboot your system to load the Promise Cache IDE ATAPI driver.


******** Removing the Driver ***


     1. In "Program Manager," doubly click on "Windows NT Setup" in 
        "Main" group.

     2. In "Windows NT Setup", select "Options", 
        next choose "/Add/Remove SCSI Adapters..."

     3. In "SCSI Adapter Setup", 
        select "Promise Technology Inc. IDE ATAPI Cache Adapter" and
	click on "Remove".

     4. After successful removing, the "SCSI Adapter Setup" box will
        show that "Promise Technology Inc. EIDE2300PLUS Controller" 
        has been removed.
