DC-200/DC-200M Windows driver README File Revision 1.02 +================================================================+ | Microsoft Windows version 3.1 disk driver for DC-200/DC-200M | +================================================================+ The files PTICTRL.386 and PTI13.386 are the Microsoft Windows 3.1 disk drivers for the DC-200/DC-200M Disk Accelerator. Use of these two files are optional. Your DC-200/DC-200M works without the drivers. You only need these drivers in the following situations: - You want to install TURBO MODE under Windows 3.1. - Your DC-200/DC-200M is installed as the PRIMARY disk controller with more than two IDE drives attached. - Your DC-200/DC-200M works as the SECONDARY disk controller. Please follow the steps below to install the driver for DC-200/DC-200M. The Step 1 and 2 are not needed when only one DC-200/DC-200M is installed as the PRIMARY disk controller with one (drive 0) or two (drive 0,1) IDE drive(s) attached. All these operations can be performed under DOS. 1. Install the DOS driver (DOSDRV.SYS Version 1.2 or later). Copy DOSDRV.SYS to your system with the appropriate path. Add Device = [drive:][\path\] DOSDRV.SYS in the CONFIG.SYS file. Note: This statement most precede any other statement which would access the physical drive(s) supported by this driver. 2. Reboot the system. 3. Copy the drivers PTICTRL.386 and PTI13.386 to your system in the appropriate path. It is recommended that the drivers PTICTRL.386 and PTI13.386 be copied to the Windows SYSTEM directory. 4. Locate the SYSTEM.ini file found in your Windows directory. Check if the following line exist in the [386Enh] section of your SYSTEM.ini file: [386Enh] 32BitDiskAccess=ON If the statement does not exist, add it into the [386Enh] section. If the statement exists, but 32BitDiskAccess is set to "OFF", you need to change it to "ON". 5. Delete the "device=*wdctrl" and "device=*int13" device setting. Delete the command lines "device=*wdctrl" and "device=*int13" from the [386Enh] section of your SYSTEM.INI file, if they exist. 6. Install the virtual devices "PTICTRL.386" and "PTI13.386". Add the following command lines in the [386Enh] section of the SYSTEM.INI file: device=[drive:][\path\]PTICTRL.386 device=[drive:][\path\]PTI13.386 The [drive:] and [\path\] point to the directory that contains PTICTRL.386 file and PTI13.386. Note that the setting must specify the full path of the device drivers. Start Windows to activate the drivers and TURBO MODE.
