The directory structure of the Sound Blaster CD-ROM This CD-ROM is divided into the following subdirectories: \WIN31 - Creative Audio Software (for Windows 3.1) \WIN95 - Creative Audio Software (for Windows 95) \WEBPHONE - Creative WebPhone software (for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95) \MSIE \WIN31 - Microsoft Internet Explorer software 2.0 \WIN95 - Microsoft Internet Explorer software 3.0 \RA - RealAudio player (for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95) \MOP - MIDI Orchestrator Plus software (for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95) \HELI - Creative 3D-Copter (for Windows 95) \SF2DEMO - SoundFont Compatible MIDI Demos. \SAMPLES \WAVE - WAVE sample files. Please refer to the user documentation that comes with your Sound Blaster package for more information on these software applications. 2. How to install the software on this CD-ROM if you are running Windows 3.1 This CD-ROM comes with these applications meant for use on Windows 3.1: Creative Audio software, Creative WebPhone, MIDI Orchestrator Plus, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 2.1 Installing Creative Audio Software for DOS/Windows 3.1 To install the Creative Audio Software for DOS/Windows 3.1, simply run the INSTALL.EXE program located in the same directory as this README file. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation. *** Important Note *** You should NOT install the Creative Audio Software for DOS/Windows 3.1 if you have a PC running the Windows 95 operating system. Please install the Creative Audio Software for Windows 95 in this case. 2.2 Installing Creative WebPhone, RealAudio Player, MIDI Orchestrator Plus, and/or Microsoft Internet Explorer As Creative WebPhone, RealAudio Player, MIDI Orchestrator Plus, and Microsoft Internet Explorer applications are Windows-based, they must be installed in Windows 3.1. To do so, follow these steps: (a) Launch Windows 3.1 on your system (b) Under File, select Run, and: - type D:\WEBPHONE\WPSETUP, if you are installing Creative WebPhone - type D:\RA\RA16_201, if you are installing RealAudio Player (for Windows 3.1) - type D:\MSIE\WIN31\SETUP, if you are installing Microsoft Internet Explorer (for Windows 3.1) - type D:\MOP\SETUP, if you are installing MIDI Orchestrator Plus (in the above example, the drive 'D' is assumed to be your CD-ROM drive. Substitute the correct drive letter for your CD-ROM drive if applicable) (c) Follow the instructions on-screen to complete the installation. 3. How to install the software on this CD-ROM if you are running Windows 95 3.1 Installation steps on Windows 95 systems If you have Windows 95 on your system, the software installation process is simple as this CD-ROM is Autoplay-enabled. Follow the steps outlined below: (a) Insert this CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. (b) The Sound Blaster 'Welcome' screen which contains a menu of available options will appear. This is the Setup Options menu. (c) Check the applications you want to install and click the OK button. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation. 3.2 Additional Windows 95 Notes 3.2.1 If you wish to re-install any of the software on the CD-ROM later, you can eject the Sound Blaster CD-ROM from your CD-ROM drive, and then close the CD-ROM tray. Windows 95 will recognize the Sound Blaster CD-ROM's Autoplay feature and the Setup Options menu will be made available again. *** End of ReadMe First File ***
