Under MS Windows and OS/2 no short time measurements are ;possible, so test will base on the BIOS timer. Increases test ;duration. Therefore this test will not beperformed unless you ;activate this option SPA01 * Pass PCI-Test=N ;The PCI Bus Test might cause a system crash. It can be disabled ;therefore. ;(EMM386.EXE with the switch "HIGHSCAN" can cause a crash) SPA02 * Pass Cyrix-CPU-Test=N ;The test for Cyrix and TI CPUs is problematic on several ;boards with elder Intel or AMD CPUs that donīt support the CPUID ;instruction. Crash may happen. (depends on the board chipset). SPA03 * Use other L2 Cache Test method=Y ;This enables a more sensitive way to detect the external (L2) ;Cache. Especially useful on Pentium boards. SPA04 * Test Harddisk always=N ;Sometimes it looks liek there is no hard disk established although ;itīs present and working. This can be caused by some block device ;drivers. In this case itīs useful to force the hard disk test. SPA05 * Not test for Graphics chipset=N ;Testing for the graphics chipset might affect a system crash. ;Under MS WINDOWS and OS/2 also bad results might occur. SPA06 * Long-time-CD-ROM-Benchmark=N ;To determine the mid access time of the CD ROM drive random accesses ;are made within 6,5 seconds. A prolongation of the test period ;will increase the reasonability of the result. If this option is ;active, the test will last about one minute. [Sound Card Tests] ;The Sound Card tests can cause system crashes because of their low-level ;way of analysis. Especially the GUS test is somewhat "dangerous". ;Port accesses are made in the I/O-range from 313h to 367h, where ;Net adapter, SCSI Controller or CD ROM drives can reside. ;You can enable/disable each Sound Card test routine. SPA07 * Disable Soundblaster test=N ;Port accesses to: 210h, 220h, 230h, 240h, 250h, 260h SPA08 * Disable Gravis Ultra Sound=Y ;Port accesses to: 313h-317h, 323h-327h, 333h-337h, 343h-347h, ;353h-357h, 363h-367h SPA09 * Disable Pro Audio Spectrum test=N ;Port accesses (if detected via BIOS Call) to: 388h, 384h, 38Ch, ;288h SPA10 * Disable MIDI Port test=N ;Port accesses to: 330h-331h or the port that was found via ;Blaster environment String. SPA11 * Activate Save-RAM-Option=Y ;Usefull if the program fails to start due to not enough free memory. ;Slower appearance of dialogboxes, especially when operated from a ;floppy disk. SPA12 * Hard Mouse Reset=N ;Resets not only mouse software but also mouse hardware, when ;Dr.Hardware is started. Increases the loading time at program start ;and should only be activted, mouse problems are encountered within ;Dr.Hardware. SPA13 * No palette-register-changes=N ;For optical reasons only, Dr.Hardware manipulates ;palette-registers on systems, that have a VGA-card. If You get ;problems here, this option should be deactivated. SPA14 * Use extended memory=Y ;If Your PC has XMS- or EMS-memory installed You can order ;Dr.Hardware to use it for relocate its dynamic overlays. ;Increases program speed. SPA15 * Allways display general messages and infos=N ;Suppresses the display of general information messages more than ;one time. SPA16 * No message windows in reports=N ;Turns the display of message windows off during the creation ;of reports and allow their creation without the need of ;user-interaction. Note, that some dialogs, that require use-input, ;must be turned off separately. [Dr.Hardware screen options] OPA00 * Screen background(°)=N ;Improves contrast mainly on monochrome monitors. OPA01 * No borders=N ;Borders around pulldown menus, dialogboxes and message windows ;improve contrast mainly on monochrome monitors. OPA02 * No shadows=N ;Add a 3D-shadow to pulldown menus, windows and buttons or not. [Color scheme] OPZ03 * Color scheme=1 ;Select one of the following color schemes ;0 (Color), 1 (VGA BLEW), 2 (SOFT BLEW), 3 (MIX), or 4 (B&W). ;Note: ;If Dr.Hardware Sysinfo detectes an active monochrome grafic or a ;color grafic based on modus 7h (monochrome mode), the colored ;palettes can not be activated. In this case the Screen background(°) ;is allways used and shadows are turned of (for contrast reasons). [Printer Setup] DRZ00 * Printer selection=0 ;Select one of the following ports: ;0 (LPT 1), 1 (LPT 2), 2 (LPT 3), 3 (LPT 4), ;4 (COM 1), 5 (COM 2), 6 (COM 3), 7 (COM 4) DRS013 * Left Margin=0 ;define the left margin (range 0-999) DRA02 * Modify character set=N ;sometimes useful to print out "„", "”", "" or "á" DRS03250 * ESC Sequence=ESC ;Take influence on your printer via ESC-sequencies. Up to 250 ;characters are allowed. See your printer manual. DRA04 * Initialize printer=N ;Dr. Hardware always checks the printer status before sending ;bytes to it and determines if it seems to be online. If it is so ;the printer will not be initialized as long as you activate this ;option. [Menu SOFTWARE/Other Files] ;By default the Pull Down Menu "SOFTWARE" offers you the option to view ;the configuration files AUTOEXEC.BAT, CONFIG.SYS, WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI. ;Via option "OTHER FILES" however up to 12 other files can be loaded into ;the internal file viewer. ;Please define those files here below. ;Note: Dr. Hardware can open files via the PATH environment string. ;So thereīs no need to write down the complete path for those files. ;Otherwise the path size is restricted to 80 characters. ;Please apply a dot behind the name of files that have no extension ;(e.g. "dirinfo" -> write "dirinfo.") ;Example: File 1=C:\NETWORK\NET.CFG OFS0080 File 1= OFS0180 File 2= OFS0280 File 3= OFS0380 File 4= OFS0480 File 5= OFS0580 File 6= OFS0680 File 7= OFS0780 File 8= OFS0880 File 9= OFS0980 File 10= OFS1080 File 11= OFS1180 File 12= [Report - General options] RDZ00 * Target=1 ;0 : onto Printer, 1 : into a file. RDS01254 * File name=DRHARD.RPT ;Name of report file. A file without path statement will be created ;in the actual directory. Up to 80 characters. RDS0279 * Report Header= ;Heading line, up to 79 Characters [Report - Selection] ;Menu Hardware RPA00 * CPU.................=Y RPA01 * Bios................=Y RPA02 * PCI.................=Y RPA03 * EISA................=Y RPA04 * PCMCIA..............=Y RPA05 * Plug&Play...........=Y RPA06 * Multi-I/O-Chip......=Y RPA07 * COM-Ports...........=Y RPA08 * LPT-Ports...........=Y RPA09 * secondary analysis..=Y ;Menu Devices RPA15 * Hard disk...........=Y RPA16 * Floppy..............=Y RPA17 * CD ROM..............=Y RPA18 * SCSI................=Y RPA19 * IDE/EIDE............=Y RPA20 * Graphics............=Y RPA21 * Network.............=Y RPA22 * Modem...............=Y RPA23 * Keyborad/Mouse......=Y RPA24 * Sound Card..........=Y RPA25 * secondary analysis..=Y ;Menu Memory RPA30 * Overview............=Y RPA31 * XMS.................=Y RPA32 * EMS.................=Y RPA33 * DPMI................=Y RPA34 * MCB Chain...........=Y RPA35 * Copyright Scan......=Y RPA36 * secondary analysis..=Y ;Menu Configuration RPA40 * Interrupts..........=Y RPA41 * IRQ Assignment......=Y RPA42 * DMA Assignment......=Y RPA43 * BIOS Data Segment...=Y RPA44 * CMOS................=Y RPA45 * Advanced CMOS.......=Y RPA46 * Chipset.............=Y RPA47 * Power Management....=Y RPA48 * Logical Drives......=Y RPA49 * HD Partitions.......=Y RPA50 * secondary analysis..=Y ;Menu Software RPA60 * DOS.................=Y RPA61 * WINDOWS.............=Y RPA62 * AUTOEXEC............=Y RPA63 * CONFIG..............=Y RPA64 * WIN.INI.............=Y RPA65 * SYSTEM.INI..........=Y RPA66 * Other files.........=Y RPA67 * TSR.................=Y RPA68 * Communicat Software.=Y RPA69 * Smartdrive..........=Y RPA70 * Device Driver.......=Y RPA71 * secondary analysis..=Y ;Menu Benchmark RPA80 * System..............=Y RPA81 * Video...............=Y RPA82 * HD..................=Y RPA83 * CD..................=Y RPA84 * Net.................=Y RPA85 * Comparision.........=Y RPA86 * secondary analysis..=Y [Critical steps of analysis] ;Before running certain analysis procedures you will be asked via message ;box whether you want to run an analysis that is known for itīs somehow ;critical behaviour. ;If your decision is always the same you will get angry about those ;permanent inquiries. You can however suppress them by prefixing your ;answers here below. (Write Y(es) or (N)o instead of "?" which means that ;you will be asked each time) KRW00 * Test for IBM-CPUs in V86 Mode=? ;Risk of system crash KRW01 * Test for IIT4C87 in V86 Mode=? ;Risk of system crash KRW02 * Netbios Analysis=? ;system may crash, influences whole network, long-time-analysis KRW03 * Test for software compressors (logical drive analysis)=? ;risk of system crash KRW04 * IRQ assignment - Generate real interrupts=? ;System may crash or get unstable (especially under WINDOWS) KRW05 * Test for software cache and try to switch off (HD Bench)=? ;a software cache may falsify the result for the data transfer rate. KRW06 * Flush Cache befor reset=? ;If you are going to quit the program via Reset option it might ;be that your software cache not have written back all data yet. KRW07 * Benchmark comparision, test your PC=? ;Put the benchmark results of your PC to the comparision list shown ;on the screen? If so, Dr. Hardware will first run the benchmarks ;on your machine KRW08 * Test floppy drive inspite of BIOS error=? ;Bios function claims that there is no floppy drive - but there is ;for example a setup entry. Continuing testing this floppy? It might ;be a phantom. KRW09 * Sound Test under WIN=? ;If your Sound Card is activated under WINDOWS the direct access to ;it may cause a WINDOWS Error message or even system halt. KRW10 * Show reports=? ;after generating reports you can inspect the results via internal ;viewer .
