Trident Linear-Addressing Non-Accelerated Driver UC95 1.0B ---------------------------------------------------------- Beta Windows '95 27 July 1995 This driver supports the following Trident chipsets: 9400CXi VL 9420DGi VL/PCI 9440AGi VL On the above chipsets, the following resolutions and color depths are supported: 640x480x256 800x600x256 1024x768x256 640x480x64K 800x600x64K 640x480x16.7M Additionally, the driver is known to work with the 8900C, 8900CL, and 8900D, and 9000i, though the resolution and color depth attainable will depend on the DAC and amount of video memory used on your video card. Those with 8-bit DAC's (which have a limit of 256 colors) should use the "Trident SuperVGA" driver included with the Microsoft distribution of Windows 95. To install: Go to the Windows '95 Control Panel select "Display". Choose the "Settings" page and click on the "Change Display Type" button to change the adapter type. Click on "Change" next to "Adapter Type", and a "Select Device" page will appear. Click on "Show all devices" and choose "Standard display type" under "Manufacturers" list and choose "Standard Display Adapter (VGA)" under "Models". Click on "OK" and perform a shutdown to restart the computer. Once Windows '95 is restarted, go back into Control Panel and click on "Display". Click on the "Settings" page and click on "Change Display Type". Click on "Change" next to Adapter Type. On the "Select Device" page, click on "Have Disk" button. Insert the diskette with the Trident Windows '95 drivers or specify where the drivers are located, then click the "OK" button. If the model name that now appears matches the device you have, click on "OK" to proceed. Otherwise click "Show All Devices" to list all the Trident non- accelerated devices available. Pick the device that matches the chip and configuration you have, then click "OK". After the appropriate files are copied, close the "Change Display Type" window so that you can select the "Color Palette" and "Desktop Area" that you want. Restart your computer to activate the new video mode you have selected.
